Green Practices

At Kent Design & Manufacturing we make every effort to be environmentally friendly.  Some examples of how we accomplish this are:

REDUCE

• eliminate redundant copies on many standard forms
• share information across internal network instead of printed materials
• send & receive electronic funds transfers
• electronically acknowledge POs instead of using fax
• use programmable energy control devices
• utilize energy efficient equipment
• turn off lights, machines, and equipment when not in use
• use less non-decomposable cups, silverware, etc.
• consolidate supplier base (less shipments from different locations)
• use energy efficient lighting
• use low-temp powders on paintline
• use new high-efficiency paint guns
• design our products with more efficient use of materials, packaging, etc.

REUSE

• use blank sides of printed pages for scratch pads
• reuse boxes for packing
• use washable roll towels instead of paper towels

RECYCLE

• office paper
• newspaper
• cardboard
• printer cartridges
• old computers & monitors
• all processing water
• scrap wire & metal
• scrap wood pallets
• use recycled materials where possible
• use rechargable batteries for hand tools

GREEN

• cleaning supplies
• coffee (rainforest certified)
• environment-friendly waste disposal
